I found a great little program that can display videos from Youtube, Vimeo and many other formats to show on the forum in one easy to find spot.

Just click on "Videos" at the top of the red navigation bar and paste the URL of your video from Youtube or similar into the "Media URL" section of the page at the bottom.

Then you just write a sentence about the video and a title and people can rate it, comment, etc.

Please only keep this section for videos of 4wding. I don't mind other types of 4wd's and funny 4wding movies, etc but try to keep it related to 4x4.

Please feel free to paste any older videos of forum meet ups or anything 4wd related you have seen on Youtube lately, etc.

If anyone is having problems or unsure on how to use it then please ask here.

Awesome job mate.. It's a pretty cool feature that I haven't seen on any other 4WD forum. Granted, I don't look on other 4WD forums. But I can assume!!!

Forgot to mention.

When you paste a link from Youtube in this video section it automatically puts in the title, description and Tags that were put into the youtube clip so It's very user friendly and only takes 5 seconds to do.

i Noticed that when you add something it does not take the thread to the to in the "whats New" section? can this be done?

Looks good AB, This forum is really coming together. Boy it gets some traffic. I remember when it was just a pea in a pod, now its a whole vine of knowledge and good people everywhere.

Good Spot, This!

:( It's telling me to bugger off. Maybe I've been away too long??

Bloggsy, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Unfortunately the forum has received thousands of people downloading the manuals which slows the forum down. We have had to make a restriction to keep the forum running. You can now only download the manuals after you have made 25 posts or more. Please do not put up 25 posts of rubbish otherwise someone will ban you from the forum. Simply introduce yourself to the forum in the introductions section, post up your Patrol in the members rides section, welcome some other new members and just join in the conversations with our friendly community. You never know, you might like the friendly environment we have here. If you have already made 25 posts but still can't download the manuals then you are either not logged in or have not confirmed your email address when you signed up. Please make sure you are signed in and that you confirmed the email that was sent to you when you signed up.

Thanks for the kind words MR, I remember you saying one night jeesh It's quiet on here. Now I can't even keep up...LMAO

It won't update the whats new section but there is a function to notify a forum of when I video has been uploaded. I'll change that setting and see what happens I guess...lol..I have no idea what it does, I guess it sends an auto message to the forum of a new vid.

If anyone has any spare time then for sure I would love for members to find some videos in the video section of the forum or Forum Meet Up section and copy the Youtube videos across to this new section.

That would be a huge help for us!!!

Lol. I'll chuck a few over tonight.

Just figured it out MR...

When you put the video in there is a button to tick at the very bottom which notifys the forum of a new video uploaded.

OR go to the submit media button right up the top, then fillin all the box's: URL, Tags, description, etc Then what?
What is a long link? i have a youtube account and just trying to past the link you get when you click "share". This is a link that has already worked in the video section

In the media URL bit you paste the URL from the Youtube video example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi4ccVBsZEM

Then press "retrieve information".

This will get the video, It's title, the tags and the video description from Youtube and put it on the forum.

The next page will just be all that info in the page and you can either scroll down to the very bottom and press "Submit Media" or edit any of the descriptions, tags and titles first then press Submit Media button.

Yeah forgot that...lol...You can still press retrieve and go to next section but you wont be able to submit it without putting it into a category.

Even though there is only one category and the stupid program wont just select that "only" category that's in there as default....lol

I dont know why you tube does that but you need to click that link above and then when the page loads, copy the URL that is on the page.

The link above is this = http://youtu.be/nFFl36LveVw

I just clicked that link which went to Youtube and the video started playing and I copied the link from that window
which is = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFFl36LveVw&feature=youtu.be

That second link will work 100%

I have no idea why Youtube gives a broken link that you can't embed on another site at the start...lol

yeh, thats the error

that is a short link you poseted: http://youtu.be/nFFl36LveVw

this is the long link for that vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFFl36LveVw

In youtube, click on "share", then "Options" underneath the link and select "Long Link"

Then Copy that link

taslucas
