Advise Please

G'Day, I'm interested in buying a 2000 Patrol Ute, 4.2 turbo with 170,000 on the clock.

Looking for advise associated with engine and drive train. How reliable is this engine and drive train? Anything I should be warey of?

That's about the most reliable engine and drivetrain combination you will find in ANY 4WD.

Make sure you road test 5th gear, that model did have a weakness with the 5th gear splines. Upgraded parts are available if needed but most will already have failed and been upgraded. Unfortunately there is no external way to determine in the upgrade has been done. That's about it for the driveline.

Obviously check the basics as you would with any car, service history, oil and coolant condition etc etc.
