yes i know the 2.8 have 2 types of plugs but that is because of the two different volts to them

One of the more diesel minded lads would have to answer this one boss - I'm assuming you could if the port was the same size, but let's face it, what do I know??!!! lmao

I had heap of trouble with glow plugs on an old cabstar (ED33), the biggest problem was not knowing if they were still ok until I really needed them in winter.
What I did was modify the setup so I could check them from the drivers seat. I used a seperate solenoid for each plug, then another two solenoids to supply either pre-start(24V) or warmup(12V) to these solenoids. I then had 4 globes ( 1 for each plug) connected between ignition 24V and the supply to each plug.
I could then check the system.
If the light went off during pre-start - then 24V was going to the plug - solenoid OK
If the light was dim after startup - warmup (12V) in use
If the light stayed off after warmup - either 24V still and plug will eventually burn out or it has already burnt out
If the light stays dim - 12V still on plug.

Have since changed vehicles and newer '91 Cabstar (BD30) has manifold heater - so much better
