not getting a reading 90% of the time the other 10% of the time it only just moves up a little. the motor is running fine and the oil level is spot on. Is it electronic or a pipe/hose?

The factory gauge is electronic and most times the fault will be the sender unit. Best practice is to get your oil pressure checked with a master gauge, if the pressure is normal I would replace the sender first.
