Just got back from camping up at the Murray and on the way back I filled up some fuel, restarted the trip meter and at 19km's afterwards the trip meter and odometer have stopped.
Has anyone got any ideas on what I need to do to get it going again?
Rip out the dash and fix something or...lol
I really want the odometer to keep working....grrr!!!!!

If your speedo still works then yes the problem is with the speedo head.
It could be something as simple as a jammed gear on the odometer or like mine, the plastic that holds the drive motor on had broken.
I was able to repair the mounting.
You will need to remove the instrument cluster and have a look, or you could try the good old bash the top of the dash a couple of times test.

Thanks mate, I did give it a little beating on the freeway but It could do with a more serious closed hand smashing followed by a Lleyton Hewitt "C'Mon"!!!.....LMAO

Never ceases to amaze me how many malfunctioning bits of gear can be fixed by a good hard whack. Fonzi was right all along!

Google ebay for Speedo Gear. N14 Pulsar uses the same gear as VN commodore... easy to find at the wreckers. One tooth breaks off and the stepper motor doesnt turn the other 2 gears anymore.
GQ may be the same ... both cars share a lot parts!

AB pull the head out it may be an easy fix or a second hand speedo, good luck.

Remove the two screws for the Stepper motor... the little plastic gear is behind there.

A switch for the odo? That's pretty crazy, I never knew that. I guess we should all have low km patrols then!? Lol mines high enough, I'll have to switch it off lol. Wheres the switch?

Sorry guys I missed this post.
Well yes I did fix it but...lol....I just banged on the top of the dash real hard whilst driving and it seemed to have kicked started again.
Not much help for anyone else but it works again!

I'm also wondering where the switch is. Maybe that would fix it?
