I'll grab it off you if you don't need it. I just found some on ebay too.

I charged the battery and hoped it would start but it didn't (new to vehicle). Former owner said I have to power off the ARB Turbo Timer before it will start. Sure enough, it fired right up. Maybe that's only when it's cold or every time? I understand the advantage of letting the turbo cool off when it's been run hard or long, but not sure why it has to be off to start the car. Ignition connection?

Normally you would wait for the glow plug light to go off before starting.
No idea about the turbo timer I think they are illegal here.
May I suggest you fit some gauges like an EGT and Boost, you can then switch the motor off
when temps allow.
IMO you dont need a turbo timer, unless you drive like Mario Andretti every day ,,day in day out.
you wont get your turbo glowing, but hey thats just me

Ye I find if u take it easy for the last few km's of the trip the temps will run down quite low.
All I see with turbo timers in general use is excessive running of engine. Too much could cause glazing of piston's?
That's my view. I could be wrong ;)

You're right though, in real world road driving you'll never see these type of temps and if you do you have bigger things to worry about.

I also let the glow plug light go out and then hit the key, never an issue, if I start it early it choofs white out and can be a bit rough, especially when cold. At the other end I just lifty off a bit before coming to a stop, EGT's get down to 150 ish in no time (10 seconds is the longest I've had to wait I think) and switch it off.

Fitted one of three carling switch housings to my centre console,
looks a bit more OE than just fitting the switches , but that just me.
Closest will be front Pro-locker when fitted, I have a compresssor /tank set up bolted to the cargo barrier
that will run the locker and an air horn, just waiting on some push fittings to arrive.
One switch will be to isolate the winch the other may be compressor not sure yet, lol

no need to carry a spare filter mate, just the cleaner and oil spray packs as its reusable, noise is ok as the passenger window is seldom down and i dont mind the sound it makes anyway and i have the awning there which deflects the noise a bit and being single i dont need approval :)

I reckon you will be able to stretch that over the intake gem the snorkel. Avoid cutting that if you can I reckon. yeah I know, it is flexible but I just don't trust something like that.

They used to have both inlet and outlet as 4" pipe.

Are you supposed to just slip it over and that's it or get a clamp on as well?

I'm tempted to get something welded up. I shot an email off asking if they have a flange adaptor with 4" pipe.

The quality is awesome but I also didn't like such a small length of pipe on the outlet side either. Haven't measured but it looks like 15-20mm length of pipe.

The length is just enough for a clamp not allowing for any slippage or movement.

Should have hade it half inch taller to allow it to go under.
But I wanted it close to the roof to reduce height and drag.
This is one of 2. Hopefully I'll have them finished before christmas.

Starting to turn into a real 4x4, should be fully installed early next year.
Thought this was the best position for the switch, very easy to reach, next
switch hole will be the Roof light bar and the third will be compressor.
Then on the centre console Ill fit a winch isolation switch and a
winch in/ winch out switch. well thats the plan he he

Did the 5k oil and filter swap - made a damn good mess taking out the filter too! Turns out the factory drip tray under the filter was either clogged or just not working cause the oil didn't come out the tube into the bucket just flowed straight over the top all into the driveway lol

Also put a new set of Bendix brake pads in the front, bleed the system and put some fresh brake fluid in! Job done!

Well I'm in 2 minds wether the draw system stays in or I revert it back to a 7 seater for an rwc situation..
If the draws come out I was going to hit the market at $6000.
$6700 if they stay as the buyer gets the cargo barrier and 75L stainless water tank aswell..
Negotiable of course..

It sure had. Absolutely lucky it was the earth wire that was exposed. I actually have 3 wires running through the split conduit, 2 x 8 B&S and 1 x 6mm (All twin core). At first I wasn't sure which one of the 8 B&S it was so checked all the fuses and the were all good, pulled them out though. Anyway ran a new length of cable and conduit, rescured the conduit and put the fuses back in, all good to fight another day. Just a headache I could of done without on this first day of 2016.

Aerpro do a full range of plug 'n play looms for all different head units and all different vehicle combo's - have a look at your local supercheap / autobahn etc. I used them recently on my head unit upgrade and made everything go that much easier.

Just make sure you also pick up a double antenna (Nissan end) to single plug adaptor depending on your head unit requirements

Yeah mate mine was a manual.
My car was there to be re-tuned 3 times, and I was there for two of those sessions, and I sat in the car once and it was definitely in 4th. I remember he got me to lug it to about 100km/h sit for 5 seconds or something like that then back off...

The graph I posted before may or may not be from that day I honestly cannot remember. But the graph may well be in 3rd? This was 3 years ago so can't remember that much. But good point, I will ask the question.

There would be absolute no power in a 3ltr in 4th at 120ks. I know mine would run out of steam not much after 100k if i flattened it. Its way out of the power range, unless you have big tyres on then it would be different i reckon.

Found a massive chunk out of the rear passenger Tyre....$450 replacement.

Found water dripping from the passenger side rear wheel arch........kids and water bottles!

Need to clean the car.... after 16 days on the road with kids, I can no longer handle the smell

Am going to find a good way to mount the Ozpig on the rack - hoping for hints!

Need to rewire the rear 12v plugs..... actually, it may be related to the kids water bottle problem...

Believe it or not I've seen it on a vn commondoor back in the day. Little bit like string next to the handbrake pulled switches a V shaped gate to reroute the exhaust. Kind of like a egr valve.

One of the reasons I put a muffler in was because i would have hated to have to listen to this truck with a turbo ping its head off every time i changed gear and rumble that could be heard up the street.

My house use to rumble from the noise of my car..

It also drove me mad driving it with that droning noise it made..

Sometimes it is not about the do gooders ruining your day but people wanting peace when they come home and not listening to noise... Eric lives in a court where the noise resonates and they had trouble in the past with a wrx.

The sad thing is that you hear about these kinds of things more often than not.
But I don't see a problem with occasional beep here and there or a car staring up and taking off.. Sometimes you have police and ambulance sirens going off at any time which are wayyy louder, dogs barking for a few minutes... and so on.
On the plus side, you know exactly when neighbours are coming and going :)

BA described it perfectly here.
This area and the people living here, is/are very unpredictable. Anything can and does happen. We have had people in my court who didn't give a s#it about anybody else around here in terms of loud exhausts, burnouts, using our short dead-end court as a timing circuit, etc etc... Some of them are now jailed for much more sinister reasons... But unfortunately some still remain.

You do your best to try and keep low profile. But sometimes it's not enough. lol
Yeah I had a straight through exhaust that annoyed somebody ... even though I never revved my car around this area, I try and drive out of the street / area with as low revs as possible. But TD42 is what it is, especially with the low vibration, gear rollover noise or whatever you want to call it... And mind you it is NOTHING compared to some of the cars around here that have been here for ages.... in fact as I'm typing this I can hear a commondoor revving it's gaskets off somewhere in the back street.

And apparently, to report someone to EPA you need to go make a statement and/or have a state dec done for it to proceed. So my car has really stepped on somebody's ears for them to go to that effort.

It is what it is.

Replaced a front axle seal and thought i would just regrease the bearings but i should have put a complete rebuild kit through as things were not so great. ..

Did not have a kit so cleaned everything and regreased and slapped it back together.

It was while doing this i noticed that my tie rod has a slight bend in it.. bugger.

I also changed the diff oil front and rear and both was in very good condition which makes me happy.

Now to see about tie rods... not sure about running non stock as i worry i could snap a hub if i out a heavy duty one on.?

Installed my Redarc Pro brake controller and fitted a new Superior Engineering adjustable drag link and steering damper to my 2014 Titanium. Adjusted steering wheel back to straight/center. May have solved the traction control / VDC coming on in corners, bends, or "round-abouts". Disconnected batteries for a while to "reset" the CPU. No issues on today's test drive. Lets hope it stays that way. Was getting tired of switching it off continually.
