I would be very wary of them, Would be easy for them 2 pull out of a claim if your car is not legally road worthy.
I could ask them can you insure my 4 inch lift...........................yeh no probs.....
Try and make a claim.......where is your engineers certificate for the lift...........
Don't have one...................
Sorry but your claim is null and void!
I would be vary careful Wayne and read the smallest of fine prints if you so find someone 2 insure the rig

I use a broker mate, they hunt around and find what i need for the best price,
even though mines not ILLEGAL they would still source someone that would cover you.
Been with them for years and insurance has never been a prob' for me,
Steve's roll over got ya worried mate...lol

No worries. Happy to help..... For the info of everybody this is what I said......after driving 600k's that day, and a tad tired. Be warned, it's not personally directed to anybody in particular.............
With all due respect to everybody who has modded their vehicle........
You need to get a handle on what and how you mod your truck.
Have a read of the back of your car rego papers. (in WA, but check your state of registration)
From memory, I'm pretty sure part of it says.....
The owner warrants that the vehicle will be driven in a safe and roadworthy condition.
If you're driving an illegally modded truck, there's a good chance SGIC won't pay you the full amount, if any.
If the cops examine your vehicle after a crash, they start at the front number plate and work their way back to the tow ball - looking for contributing factors.
If the insurance company finds out......well, it may be "too bad, so sad - next".
I for one, am not driving in fear of a work order (Vehicle Compliance Notice/yellow sticker), or worrying about whether my insurance company will pay for my damages.
"Yes, but......" just doesn't cut it with me, anymore.
End of rant.
Take care out there.
Ross

Hope they will give it a wash and polish, really needs one *L*
Agree with your rant mate,
And I very much doubt any insurance company will pay out a claim if the vehicle is not "officially" road worthy

Just insured mine throufh Affinity insurance brokers. Full 4x4 offroad cover (beaches, rivers included). $957 agreed 34k for 2001 GU 4.2TD wagon.
Tried to insure my TD4.2 GU, most companys only offered 19k market value, I asked if they could get me one at that price and they declined to answer, went to a broker , got 31k agreed. Pays to find a good broker...

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! lol
Should I take that as a yes Adrian????
If so, isn't it just a waste of time putting in a 2inch lift and 33's because it still will not be covered by insurance?

I think the max we can actually go is 2 inches, whether it's a suspension lift or whatever.............. but saying that, I could be wrong

I just insured mine with Affinity as well, 1988 GQ wagon with up to a 3" lift and 33" tyres allowed. Full comp, offroad included, agreed value of $8000 and $2000 for accessories for only $750 p/year. This was the best price I could find for everything I wanted. Also being only 23 this year it's hard to find someone willing to cover everything let alone the $2000 they ask for!!

I haven't got that far lol at the moment it's sitting on 2 inch lift with 33's, when it comes to it I'll post back on here. The person who did my whole insurance quote/set-up told me that they cover 3 inch lift no questions asked, but once it goes higher than that i.e. 4-6 inch etc they need certificates amongst other things - but he said it HAS been done. So I'm hoping I should be alright......

I would get that in writing, because if the 4b is not legally road worthy, it might come back 2 bite you.
They might not ask you if your lift is road worthy, doesn't mean they will pay a claim if its not.

Yeah I know what you mean, it's all there on my insurance contract which I made sure of! If I ever amend anything (like putting a 3 inch lift in) I'll speak to them about it and if they say it's all good then I'll make sure they send me out new paperwork etc. Can a 3 inch lift be roadworthy at all? With some kind of certificate or something? I wouldn't mind going to the hassle of getting one if it's going to save my arse.
