Anyone found a source for replacement keys? I guess one also need a guide to reconfiguring--book says ALL keys need to be redone.

Hi Dr Gary.
I recently had the same problem....
After going to a Nissan dealer and being quoted $300.00 for a new key and being told to wait two weeks to get it, I went to a Mister Mint kiosk at the local shopping centre and had a new key copied in less than 5 minutes for about $110.00.
The key worked first go and i have been using it the last 6 month with no problems.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
GUZD

Does it work on remote door locks etc?? I know I can get ignition OK with a generic (cut to suit) key.

Seen them on Ebay for 23 dollars as a blank key, after paying 230 to a nissan ripoff merchant, go ebay and spend the rest on beer

Need to be careful with Ebay. The chip in the key needs to be the same as the car. I heard someone bought a key and when it arrived he found out it only fitted an overseas model. (not imported into Australia).

Does anyone know any keymaker who charges below $110.00?

Sort of related, brought a new remote from NISSAN $130, no charge to configure it. All he did was push key in and out a few times with ignition on and that was that. normal charge to configure was $85

when configuring keys there is a set pattern to follow in a set time it includes key in and out a few times and lock and unlock the drivers door but all keys have to be redone at the the same time as it works on a kickout system. this is to stop a stolen or lost key from being able to start the car.all nissan models from memory had a different patern and most of the later ones the consult diagnostic was used to recode the keys
