Thanks guys, yeah conversion was pretty easy to do, it's just all the little niggly bits to sort out, haha.

Just got some new shoes for the wagon, set of 315's maxxis big horns. So have to swap them onto my rims :-)

Works great. its just an ebay job with 3" piping but you can really tell one side is boiling the other side is touchable, hate to see it running without one.

I will try upload some pics tomorrow.

You do have to put in a 2 holes for the piping but its a easy as, and work out another option for a washer bottle, but its pretty straight forward and its very effective.

Works well one sides is bloody hot and the other side you can touch.

Hunty

Thanks guys, still some work to do on the wagon before she's right to properly drive after the conversion, but it's awesome once boost comes on its like taking off in a plane haha.

Mate they are 285/75/16, MTZ's but I wouldn't reccomend them.
Just bought a set of 315/75/16 big horns just have to swap them onto my rims.

Just got the new shoes put on my rims and now on the wagon :-)

Loving them! So quiete for a mud tyre.
Got 315/75/16 bighorns, scrub out just a little so a bigger lift is on the cards in a few months time.

The wagon is coming along nicely now, and the ute will get an upgrade soon too :-) couple of powerful 4.2's :-)

Installed the pillar pod (not all Gauges are in)
Happy with it but i think for what it is they are a tad over priced.

Dave made up some new aircon hoses and should be gased today :-)
Next is to get the airbox all sorted.

Almost done :-)

The idea of the inlet manifold is to increase air speed at the rear cylinders to promote a more balanced airflow across the cylinders as opposed to the standard setup which see's no.1 and no.6 recieve less air than the other cylinders. Has been used on some high output setups with good results.

Thanks for summing that up nissannewby, i didnt realise i hadnt explained why it is like that. The wagon will be tuned in the next week or two and hoping to get some good figures out of her.

sweet thanks mate you need to get some more pics up of your ute. Me and my mrs own 3 utes between us

Hunty
15th April 2012, 03:40 PM
Haha no worries. Yeah the plan was to set the ute up for touring and a bit of play but then we got the opportunity to do the swap in the wagon so all our focus has been put into that, but ill try dig up some pics.

The ute is getting t0 the stage where some work needs to be done to it, the turbo is on its way out and of course everything will start to follow haha.

The latest project has been the air box and the cage for the fridge.

The cage i have used 12.7mm rhs for the frame and mesh to fill it in. the bottom rails are 65 mm flat and that is how it bolts onto the slide.
Top rails and mesh are this weekends job
flat bolted to slide

Nice work on the cage for the fridge, I had a similar set up in a wagon from the other stable, its really supprising how much crap falls in behind the fridge . just a quick one on the intercooler, how did you go with mounting all the other factory coolers etc when finished, Im thinking of going front mount as well and am looking for ideas on fabrication for brackets etc, a pic would be nice if you have one

Cheers

Ink bandit I'll look around for aphoristic for you. As for the coolers, we used a smaller rectangle cooler (the old man had one handy in the shed) my hubby custom made a frame to mount the intercooler and was made to keep the bonnet latch. And we just got rid of the thermo fan for up front. Haven't had any problems with heating. We are towing a comp truck to bris this weekend and on our test run temps were sitting good.

Having the cage just makes it easier to pack and makes it possible to pull the fridge out haha.

She went in for a tune on Monday and I must say very happy with the result.

First big trip away since the engine swap. Was a great trip and towed well, and had some good fun having a fourby.
Lots of idiots around, it amazes me how some of them arent dead.
