My DIFFS ARE CONFUSING ME !!!!!

So, I've got the Nissan Safari Granroad 1989 SWB 5sp manual with pto winch. Next to the radio are 3 diff lock switches. I assume they are for front, mid and rear ? I have locking hubs on the front. For all my googling I cant find anything that tells me which switch is for which. Nothing on the switches themselves gives any hint. Layout is left to right. I know nothing about the appropriate situations for using the various combinations of these. I would go to a 4x4 training school but they are far too expensive for me. I'm not an idiot and am logical enough to work it out I'm sure but, any pointers or tips would be great as I'd hate to unwittingly do damage to my new baby!!!

Are you able to post a photo of the switches? Patrols only have 2 diffs - no centre diff, so if you they are locker switches they will be front, rear, and compressor.

X2 air lockers mate need the compressor switched on first you will hear it (if it's operational)

Pic is my profile pic. Just above the pto leaver are the switches. They say ' DIFF LOCK' and each has on/off position. Yea I get that there are only two diffs but is the 3rd switch a way that they lock together? Had the truck a week now and had no chance to experiment.

Like the others have said mate, one will turn on the compressor and the other 2 will with be selecting either the front or rear diff

Last couple of days I've been trying to hear which switch is turning the compressor on and off but can't hear a thing. Do they come from the factory like this, with each switch labeled 'Diff Lock' with an on and off position. Why wouldn't they call one 'compressor' ? Or is that too obvious? ;) O well I'll keep playing with it.......

Some Y60's and Y61's came with a factory vacuum operated rear diff lock. These did not need a compressor and there was no factory front diff lock option.
Have a look at you diff centres and see if there is a hose other than the breather hose.

So, after an expert gave me a guided tour throughout the intimate workings of my truck ( sorry, 4x4 ) he showed my the front, back AND the center diff explaining, with pictures, how it all worked. So, when front and rear diffs are locked there is a limited slip diff operating between them distributing power. This can be locked. He then took me and showed me it all in action. Gotta say I love my truck ( sorry, 4x4 ).
