First Photo, the view of the American flag from the backyard of my Auntie's house in Trophy Club, Texas. They know how to do patriotism over here.

Well done Warnie.

I'm inspired already. Temps in some parts of WA are 40deg C, not the 40deg F, you're experiencing. lol

Take care over there.

We went to down town Fort Worth today to the old cattleyard and watched the longhorns walk down he street with the cowboys.

OMG ive been in New York for about 30 hours and its crazy. So many people. We saw rock of ages on broadway today, it was nothing short of spectacular. Its a musical about people making it big in LA in the 80's. The music was awesome, 80's rock including Bon Jovi, Journey, Pat Benitar and heaps more. I had never seen a musical before and it was awesome. Then we ate dinner in times square at Bubba Gump's Shrimp. Photos will follow when we return to my aunties in 6 days.

Well second day in Vegas today was unreal. Hired a Mustang and drove out to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (540 miles return from Vegas). It was awesome, we got there right on sunset and it was beautiful. Jess took a thousand photos and I just stood there like an old man and took it all in. It being the middle of winter once the sun went down the temperature plummeted to 25F or around -3C, and it was so cold. Then we played the casino (pokies and roulette - I like the noises and flashing lights) for 2 hours and we both came out with more money than we entered with, great day, but Im knackered now.

To follow the end of the New York visit, we went to the top of the Rockefeller centre which has a 360 degree view of the city (again Jess took a thousand photos and I just stood there like and took it all in), Central Park and Central Park Zoo, Wall Street, Ground Zero and Battery Park (which looks out to the statue of Liberty and Ellis Island).

To tell you the truth I was glad to leave New York. It is an amazing place and I am glad I visited, but it is really expensive to do anything (not as expensive as in Australia though), its way too congested and the people were quite rude compared to Texas, oh well though.

The trip has been expensive, but its something everyone should experience. At least at my aunties I wont spend much money, just hang out with my little cousins. Oh and my auntie is going to take us extreme couponing. It sounds crazy but you can get like $200 dollars worth of stuff for like $1.27 (random number). Its not like in Australia where a coupon is only valid on its own and doesn't include other offers. You can use a coupon on top of a coupon and so on, sometimes up to 4 or 5 times, I am very intrigued.

I will keep this thread updated and pictures will follow when I return to my aunties in 2 days and have a fast and stable internet connection.

Well I'm hammered right now and its now almost midnight in my first day back in Texas. I have only just got home (back to my aunties) after Vegas. We spent the night across the road in front on a fire with Dos Equis on tap ( as in Brandon across the road has Beer on tap - winning). Photos of trips will follow tomorrow when I am sober and have time. This was actually my favorite night in America so far. Fail by me as I have spent near on $3000 in the first 9 days (inc accommodation) and today didn't cost me a cent lol. We also worked out that in 2 weekends when we are back after skiing we are going to go hooting all of Brandon's guns at the gun range. Typical Texan he only has like 20, from all types of Pistols to all types of Riffles (fully, semi and non automatic). Some you even have to reload after you shoot one bullet / shell. LOL. I was talking to him and he said by law he could shoot a person on his property in the front or back and kill them and get away from it legally for any real reason. Crazy hey, and he is a lawyer, lol.

Amyway, photos will follow in about 10 hours.

I am here for another 2 weeks. I have been here for 2 and a half weeks.

We didn't do too much skiing today due to an entire mountain outage, which was a little disappointing, but something that cannot be controlled.

Stop showing your age, Wayne. Some of the youngins on here don't know what it looks like. The closest they would have seen to snow is the ice cubes in the freezer. lol

Snow and then skiing in snow is my favorite thing to do. Nothing like fresh powder turns after a snow storm, its amazing. It's a shame you feel that way Wayne, but each to their own. I grew up in Victoria and needed to make the most of the miserable winter weather.
