Hey guys, after my 2.8 heart transplant she seems to be running really well exept for a surging nearly all the way throughout driving range, more apparent at idle, she gurgles and splutters up to 1500 revs too. When spluttering there is some smoke... The fuel plunger is soggy after a drive, do u think it might be air in the lines? And what is the best way to bleed them?

The fun continues..!

Oh and the car the engine came out of had the pump tuned for a chip... Maybe it's running too rich? :s no chip on mine, yet :)

It sounds like air is getting in, check around the lift pump and filter for leaks. The mechanical engine tune is not usually changed when a chip is fitted - the tune should be standard when the chip is not fitted.

Apparantly the dude had it Dino tuned and the fuel wound up when the chip was put in. It's a gu, so computer driven pump.. :s I'll have a look now.
