Hey guys,

Purchased a Ford Maverick 1993 model and I'm wondering what the procedure is to change the lower rear right brake light.

Cheers

you should be able to get to the it from the back, if not then the lens will be a face fix screw, just take it out and your in. Easy as mate.

Congratulations on the purchase.

Cheers for the advice. I unscrewed the two screws and I thought that little light cover would just pop off. Then I thought that you'd need to disconnect the socket thing at the back. Can the socket thing at the back be disconnected safely? Trying not to do any damage :P

Got the globe out and it wasn't easy at all because the bayonet was rusted. Does anyone know what type of globe model it is? Standard 12v?

Take the globe to any auto shop mate an they'll be able to match it if ya can't read on the base

As long as it's an Australian sold Patrol/Maverick (basically anything not badged as a Safari) it will be a standard 12 volt bulb, dual filament for stop/tail bulb.

I tried the standard 12v 21/5w globe and still no luck. I'll try another one tomorrow and if that doesn't work, I'm thinking the wiring might be borked.

the baonet lugs on dual fillents bulbs are staggered meaning it will slot in one way but not turn into position. if this is your problem you will have to turn the bulb 180 degrees and try again.
