I don't know about the gennie but the Maglite for 30 bucks seems alright with a beam of 324 metres.

# lucas have you looked at those sleeping bags that make you look like Gumby.
You can walk around in them and warm as Think they are called selk or similar.
Great for frosty vic/Tas nights

Check out the XML 16 led torches next time on ebay, Its as good as my P7 IMO
It even comes as a head lamp with focus, great torch and very affordable,
comes with spare battery and charger,

I've got this one already.
Plenty of room, and warm.
Rated to -10c , middle of winter, I'm in jocks only as it's a very hot bag to sleep in.
I also sleep with a beanie to keep my bald scone warm. Lol
