Winnie
23rd November 2012, 06:13 PM
Winch bar is off and winch is bolted to it, realised that I have nowhere to mount the control box and it didn't come with a bracket to mount it to the actual winch. Got a mate with the same winch who didn't use his bracket and he is on his way here.

chester
23rd November 2012, 06:21 PM
Make sure you wash the rope with clean water after use in mud mate. Also take care with it on rocks it can cut through the rope.

Winnie
23rd November 2012, 06:23 PM
Yeah that's the main downside to having rope but for all the benefits seemed worth it to me. I'll just soak it in a bucket overnight after I've got it muddy.

Winnie
23rd November 2012, 09:27 PM
Woooow it's on! Had to drill some holes in the bar to mount the control box which was a bit scary lol but all ended well. Just curious does anybody know how to connect the hook onto the thimble? Tried just about everything.

Winnie
24th November 2012, 04:57 PM

taslucas
30th November 2012, 06:58 PM
Well I suppose it's good you did it then:-).
Was the temp gauge getting hotter?
What did it cost ya?

Tap, crackle, pop

Winnie
30th November 2012, 08:17 PM
Yeah it was running hot, that's why I got it checked. Sorta happened really quickly.
Cost was just over $200, dunno if I got ripped off or what but well worth it, better than an overheating engine! Now sits at 1/3 on the gauge and gets to 1/2 when revving up hill with air con on.

Alitis007

Thats s good price if they removed the radiator and cleaned the core. Just keep an eye on your water pump after you put fresh coolant they tend to leak thru the bearing seals.

Winnie
30th November 2012, 09:07 PM
Yeah they took the radiator out, cleaned the core and steam cleaned it. Painted it too, dunno why. Was at Natrad in Warragul.
Thanks for that bit of advice mate, I'll keep an eye on it.

Yeh I got moved from my local branch 2 one further away so they gave me a fuel card and work van for over a year, than I went back 2 the one near home and they took than van and fuel card off me, they sold the van then decided to send me back to the other branch for another year or so, they gave me a fuel card but that was it so used it on the weekends to do long trips as they weren't paying a km rate for wear and tear. Got retrenched soon after they closed down the branch I was not meant to be at in the first place and moved me back to my normal place of employment.
So enjoy it while you have it and abuse the fuel card as much as possible.........just don't get caught *L*

Winnie
17th December 2012, 08:44 PM
Nah the fuel card can only be used on the work vehicle (omg a Toyota!!!) but I can use it for all my personal needs.

Winnie
26th December 2012, 08:13 PM
Nah I always turn it off when I go offroad and very rarely have it up loud anyway. The brackets broke on it today when I was out bush and ripped the cables out of it. So rather than put it back in I'll just leave it out, love the extra space already. Now to fill up that space with a fridge lmao
