Its me again guys, the guys with the weird conversion.

I am doing my brake maintenance and I would like to know if I can take the weight sensor slave off and rebuild it because after a year an a half of sitting out it looks quite rusty (doesn´t look good), it actually looks rusty on the outside but no big deal, what I am wondering is on the inside if it can be fixed as a regular clutch slave kit or maybe is completely sealed and once is gone is gone forever. ORRRRR I am not worry about the whole weight sensor adjust brake thingie so I am just wondering if I can take that off completely and leave the oil lines directly to the rear brakes without going through that first.

HELP PLEASE.

THANK YOU ALL.

I think you'll either lock your rears or they may not work at all not sure mate hopefully someone else will have more of an idea

Don't know how to rebuild it mate, but it serves a specific purpose - you obviously know that, so it senses rear load, it adjusts brake pressure accordingly, without it you would brake 'heavy' in the @rse end (rear brake lockup)...

I'd be keeping it, and hopefully someone can assist with the 'rebuild' concept ... personally I think you could run a wire brush over it, paint it with zinc based paint, and bobs your uncle ...

No doubt others will know better than I though.

Hi ipatrol26.
Nissan lists it as a non servicable part. If the unit is not leaking and you do not lock the rear brakes dont touch it. It will only leak from the push rod end. If the unit is leaking inturnaly, that is leaking between input and out put sides of the valve you may be getting some eratic braking in the rear. If braking is normal dont touch it. Here in Aust there are a couple of places that will rebuild the unit which includes fitting stainless steel sleves to any damaged bores. We also use to have some retro fit units but
I belive these were banned due to non complinace problems. hope this helps.

Just spray it with some rust converter, rust spray paint and then coat it in oil occasionally.
