Some may have seen this before. Some may be holding out for the new shape. We just added to the family a 10/2011 Patrol Ti. Will keep current shape me thinks for a while

I reckon the Y62 will sh1t all over the current Patrol but who will be able to afford it? It will be priced like the 200series I reckon.
I think the Y61 will be here for a good while yet, apparently the are giving it a facelift in February.....that's what I'm waiting for..

Good to see another pretty 2.3 tonne vehicle for soccer mums to hang around school pickup zones in ...

Other than that, it looks poxy and this fat boy will stick with the GQ for now, an an early model GU when it's time for a new one ... the Y62 is just plain UGLY and I don't care how many electronic aides it has and how many horsies are under the bonnet, independent suspension and sub 200mm of clearance is going nowhere near the places I want to go ...

The bloke at the dealership 2 weeks ago. SAID they will be about 137k each not to leave a nissan but if I were to spend that on a car (and I wouldnt) I woul get a Range Rover for a full wanker experience,

$137K??? Oh my goodness gracious me!!!! I agree with Sharon's comment - looks too much like a cruiser - I have no issue with cruisers design as such (except I don't like it! lol), but seriously ... I appreciate they'll have cheaper models, but there has not been a Patrol produced to this point that is any where near worth that price (stop it, I too think they're awesome, but not for near on 140 grand!!).

The car manufacturers are simply assisting the process of reducing our options for where we can and can't travel, and as such (IMHO) our kids will never know the Australia we do.... and that is quite simply a tragedy, because this place is stunning and to limit the opportunity to a select few who have older model vehicles (all vehicles, they are all going the same way, except maybe the Jeep - forgive me, but it's true!), is a disgrace in my opinion.

By the way, I'm pretty full after a big day, so I might need to revisit this tomorrow and apologise!!! lmao

No I agree with that. Recently I was reading an article in regards to market psychology and the shift in the consumer. In the article 40 odd pages. It identified the sudden and large shift of families (in Australia) that have abandoned the days of holidaying at an expensive resort or travelling overseas and are tightening belts ( since the 'apparent' financial crash). Instead to 4wd and camp domestically. Hence we see the market for a good 2nd hand 4x4 has increased and availability for them is drying up. This has also lead to the markets increase in LED lighting, HID lighting and camper vans and camper trailers everything camping (the establishment of 4x4 businesses and camping stores in the last 3 years alone). People have made an obvious line in the sand with costs and are now having a more enjoyable holiday on a budget and getting out more to see the country I would argue from personal experience build better relationships with the wife and daughter.

Then as Bigrig stated and this article identified these &%$ idiots involved in the engineering and the market value placed on the cars are identifying and chasing the few who can afford to have a million dollar holiday and their want for perhaps a 4wd with the luxuries they gave up leaving the resorts and trips.

So in a disgusting attempt to put themselves on the same pedestal Nissan will apparently be increasing the price to compete with the X5, Discovery 4, Range rover and Landcruiser to what end? Is this the way we are heading as a society? Must have a big income to camp? Camping and 4wding for most of us has been to avoid the costs associated with other methods of fun/holidays with the family. It seems now they say the average consumer that will buy their car to go camping and 4wding on a “budget” will be able to afford a car 130k +. Well I wont I think it is also unfair to expect most average Aussies looking to show the family this fantastic country to pay the price tage to do so. Maybe Aldi will do a 4wd :)

Shame on you Nissan.

P.S Im on the home brew tonight (very very Strong) so be gentle :P

Im all for evolution. I think the Y62 went in the right places considering what the current Y61 looks like. Also if there is one thing ive learned its not to judge a book buy its cover. I cant wait till the new troll comes on sale here. I just want to test drive it. :)

Not my thing, but if you like it and can afford it, great.

so my russian or what ever they are epeaking is no good but I'd rather my gu. it still looks like a 4x4 the y62 looks like an fj cruiser at the front. I prefer the barn doors not lift back. the mags are too big for a real off road tyre all rim and no rubber = rough ride and poor flex of tyre for grip and puncture resistance. So the cabin looks well appointed and engine and eletrical aides look like they would be great but looks to me that it would be great for the touring tracks better handeling and comfort compared to the gu but when you get to a hard part the gu looked to do it easy compared to this new on which worries me how would you do the old bush telegrath trail or alike you wouldn't as I can't afford it and for that money would you take it off road and you'd still want to spend the thousands to improve it like we all do. you'd be better to get a h1 hummer for that price or chev ram or F truck

Old one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE2kL8E5p1U&feature=related

Of course we can say that new Patrol has bad tires for this job, but his weight and clearance will mess up any type of tires.
