I just joined the club in the hope that I will enhance my understanding of most problems associated with 2003 3L turbo diesel patrol that I have. Last week while I was driving, the motor lost power and does not rev over 1100 Rpm,s. I have changed all filters, the car underwent two diagnostic test carried out by two different comp. and no faults were recorded. I was told that ALL electrical systems are OK. but the engine still does not rev. over 1100Rpm,s. The guy,s from Nissan have never encountered this fault just like every body else I have spoken to so far.I can drive the car in 3,rd at idle doing 40Km/Hr. but soon as I touch the accelerator pedal it starts to run very rough. Does any body have any suggestions apart from putting a match to it ? I have no idea what to do next. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum mate, you might want to ask this question in It's own area in the general discussions as a lot of people don't read the intro section.

Have you drained the fuel, changed the fuel filter and filled up new diesel with a reputable fuel supplier. I know It's a simple one but just to eliminate bad fuel to start off with...

I had that exact problem with my company car (VY commodore) and after draining the fuel and filling up at a reputable supplier and new filter the problem was gone. Soon realised the old fuel supplier where I filled the car up last time had a crack in his supply tank and water was getting in.

By the sounds of you issue im thinking along the lines of poor fuel pressure (could be a pump or a pressure regulator gone). So I'd be getting the fuel pressure checked first off.
