Hi all,
Long time no speak! I've been lurking in the darkness..

Anyway, I've found a 4.2 GU that's too good to pass up.

It has 162,000 on it.. I'm wondering if it's possible to wind the dashboards back.. being electronic Odometers and all?

I don't think you could wind them back easily.. but anything is possible.

I bought my GU when I was a lot more naive about 4WD's and I've learned a lot about the little 2.8.

However I'm still shady on the 4.2.. besides it's being a tank of an engine.

This car is loaded with the lot at a great price. I don't think I can pass this up. Any other ideas about what I can look for mechanically? Any special little things with the 4.2 I need to know?

It's going to be hard to compare the low engine km's to the rest of the car. Nail biting stuff. I must have this car though.. lol!

Hmmm ... there's bound to be a way, but I don't think you're 'average' person would know how (I don't, and I'm very average!!!! lmao). So hopefully the klms are genuine ...

Diesel or petrol?? I'm assuming diesel ... if that's the case, and the water and oil have been kept on top of, then happy motoring for the next 350,000 klms!!!

Yep it can be done by any gauge specialist who's willing.

I had it done with a replacement dash cluster so the K's matched one one that came out so I know it can be done.

Cost stuff all too........ $40 bucks about 18months back
