View Full Version : Would you think less of me if I used a Toyota part on my GQ

Ok, well some of you know that I actually have an old FJ45 on my property.
I know, how dare I even mention this and why????
Well, I've had it for years and It's an old ute that is perfect for carrying wood and ripping out stumps and general carting of tools and materials around the place. Truth be told the transfer case is now gone from simple stump pulling so the strength is obviously not there but anyways...
It has a full one piece scrub/sliders which are bolted on the bullbar and welded to the chassis.
I just measured it up to the GQ and it will be pretty much spot on "distance and shape". There will need to be slight bending to match the GQ front end but apart from that it will do the job.
So.....lol....I'm not techincally using a Toyota part, more of a ummm, lets say using a good quality accessory that happens to be on a tojo to put on the beast...LMAO
I'll have to somehow make up a bolt cage fitting to the GQ as I do not want to weld anything to the GQ chassis....Any ideas welcomed with that concept as well...
Ok, let me have it!!!!!!

You still got the mongrels on the GQ? Hmmm, it seems the sliders wouldnt be the first part scavenged from the FJ so go right ahead!

decisions , decisions . option 1 - leave them on and call the wrecker to remove entire 4b, you might get a few dollars . option 2 - remove them and call wrecker to remove 4b. you might have to pay him to remove it cause there is nothing left worth salvaging !

If you don't get to the church Andy, you could just send each member a large bottle of "Jacks" and I'm sure we could overlook your situation!!
Cheers, the ferret.
