Evolution or sacriliage?

I still think the HDT VL Group A is one of the best looking cars ever made in Australia, now the new HDT have released their VE/VL retro sedan. I like it but think the bonnet scoop is out of proportion.

The Walkinshaw was a gem in my opinion ... the new one is a bit off looking - scoop out of proportion like you said, front end is a bit like michael jacksons plastic surgery - just wrong looking.

WOW Soopa Soopa cool I want but can't afford:-( my favourite Brocky was the VK and the VL a close second oh and close third VH VC all of em are favourites But that looks absolutely the ducks guts!!!!!!

I'm lucky enough to have driven a stock standard VK GPA and VL Walkinshaw back when I was working in a dealership, fantastic cars to drive. Not as powerful as the BA turbo's and GT's that I was used to driving (it was a tough job but someone had to do it!) but the rawness of the older cars adds to their character.

The original VL GPA had 137kw (I didn't even need to look that up!) the new one has 350kw, so it's got that side of thigs well and truly covered.

I know a car needs to have some sort of identity so it can relate to past models but that scoop and rear spoiler just look ridiculous.............. what may have looked good on a car 10/20/30 years ago does not necessarily mean it's gonna look good on todays cars................. just my 2 cents

never owned either, but for me the HQ and LC shapes were the most attractive Holden made
