gday guys ive been thinking of building my own control arms for my shorty. now i dont realy know what material to use could i use a thick walled mild steel tube or beta using chromolly.

A control arm is not something you want to have break when you're driving down the highway with your family in the car, probably best to buy a set of professionally manuafactured control arms.
If you're good with a welder strengthening the original arms would be easier than start from scratch.

The originals you can weld a bit of flat along them to strengthen them. But if you are into metal fabrication (as a trade or better) make a set out of chrome molly.

thanks fellas the car is only gunna be used of road . thanks dhuck iam a boilermaker by trade so i go alright with the welder but one of my standard arms is allready bent thats why i wanted to fab new ones. just had a look at some other ones on the net and it seems that most arms are made out of dom pipe
