Gday fellow Patrolers, My young bloke is gonna buy his first Patrol, We have seen a couple but there over east and we were just wondering if someone local to each could have a look for us. There is one in Adelaide and one in Geelong in car yards that we are looking at, since we are in WA i was just wondering if someone can have a look and let us know if it worth buying as its a long way to go if its no good, If anyone can help please let me know and I'll pm them the details, Thanks.

I have had a look at the link to the Geelong one.

looks like the front bar is all bent out of shape and there is damage to the rear. Always skeptical of photos taken of a wet car!

Plas will have a look tonight and i might see if i can get inside it tomorrow, I am on a very tight schedule tomorrow and it may not happen, but i'll do my best bud

Cheers

Yeah Col, He is looking for a GQ TI with the TB42 Injected motor on gas, preferably with rear air and diff lock, he is a bit of a fussy bugger and this is why our search has led us over east as the specs on his list are pretty specific. But if ya gonna borrow money then ya may as well get what ya want.

Bigcol

EDIT Has anyone got a factory rear diff lock to clarify this. With the diff lock off the wheels when one was being turned the other moved in opposite direction as an open wheel diff. Then when i turned the diff lock to on i couldnt turn the wheel both axles definatel felt "locked"(in neutral) i put it in drive and let it idle over and couldnt stop either wheel from turning by hand. But the lockewr wouldnt turn off when i turned it off. I assume you may need to drive it around a corner or further than i had to drive forward n back ( about 800mm)

Well he got one, he went down to Perth today to have a look at a couple, they turned out to be pretty less than pristine, so on his way home he stopped an looked at one that I found in the Quokka at the last minute, from what I am to understand it is a very very tidy 1994 GQ, Its not a TI but its got EFI and Auto and he is very happy with it, as of yet I haven't seen it as I am stuck at home with a crook back and couldn't go down with him, He took his Grandfather instead who will drive the other car back, I hope his trip back is uneventful and safe as its been a long day, he left at four this morning and its now about eight pm, I will post pics up when I get some tomorrow or the next day.

Well let the mods begin, he has ordered the suspension and tires, The suspension consists of a 50mm lift from OME, and the Wheels are Black ROH 15x8 wrapped with Cooper Discoverer STs 33 x 12.5 x 15,I will put up some pics when it all arrives and is fitted, apparently the springs have to come from over east and they must come on the donkey cart because they reckon it will take two weeks to arrive. :smilie_bett:

Only thing I can think of is the stupid buggers must be going east instead of west cause i can get stuff from China quicker than that, and we know what that boat is like lol.

Well he has started, he has well and truly caught the bug, here is some before and after shots. The front sits a little higher than the rear as he will soon be getting a winch bar and winch for it so he ordered heavy duty front springs.
