Hi we r the Brewers from far north qld we have a 98 gu 4.5l petrol and we have really been enjoying the 4 wheel driving trips we've been doing in her. Have had a few little problems with her but over all it is good. We have 5 kids ranging in age from 9 to 3months, have had her( the nissan) stuck sideways on an angle in a flooded river where the water was poring in through the doors right up over the gear stick hub. So far we have had no problems resulting from this, we are very impressed with how she handled that trip. Other than a bit thirsty on fuel which we have had extractors and a 2 1/2 inch system put on all is good. Waiting to do a big trip on the xmas hols to test out the exhaust to see if it makes much differance on fuel consumption.
Any ideas on how to make her run more efficiently would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and hope every one has a great time for the remaining of the year.

Welcome to the forum.

To get the engine running as efficiently as possible I recommend cleaning the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor every service. Make sure the ignition timing and valve clearances are set correctly, and the air filter is clean. If you vehicle has done more than about 150,000km you may also benefit from replacing the coolant temperature sensor and exhaust gas oxygen sensor as they can go out of calibration over time without logging fault codes.

Other than that keep the tyre perssures up (40psi) and the speed and weight down.
