Hi can someone tell what happens with the heads they seems to have a few problems
Do they crack or distort and is it a fault of the head or overheating
I know some go because of LPG
I've seen 2 now that have been advertised just bwondering if they are worth fixing
thanks

Mate over heating can warp or crack them and they will need machining/welding probably not something worth doing in my opinion

G'day mate - if you can whittle down that one for $3000 and everything else looks ok, it depends on your budget, but a new head fitted with new aluminium core radiator will set you back a few thousand more - that said though, if it has a solid service history, then the price is pretty good. I bought mine mechanically A1, dual fuel etc for $7500 a while back, and they are a solid box, so as long as its just what the ad says, then you might end up $5000 approx out of pocket once repaired for a bloody good truck - a good buy no doubt. The GU's major concern is the kilometres on the clock. Stronger running gear etc, but a lot of k's - still sitting at a good price, but not if you have to do a full engine rebuild somewhere close down the track.
Just my two cents.
Others will have some comments to assist also mate. Good luck with the hunt!

The GQ is a bargain, the diff locks and suspension alone are worth nearly the asking price. You could get a complete second hand TB42 for about $1500, add another $1500 for radiator, hoses, water pump, thermostat etc etc and you have a good car for $6,000.

I like the GU but the Kms are a worry but the GQ like YNOT said does come with the extra's so I might see this weekend what it's like
