Gday everyone, just after a bit of collective knowledge. Can someone tell me if it's possible to bang a high mount in an arb bar on a GU? I have access to the winch but don't want to start grinding if all I'm doing is wasting a bar. Anyone that's done it got some pics?

Cheers

Steve

It is possible, I'll see if I can find some photo's but they won't be close ups.

Edit, no luck finding photo's so I've emailed the owner of the car (it's not mine-obviously!) to get photo's.

Definitely possible as Tony stated. You will do a little cutting of the ARB bar but also expect to do a fair bit of cutting to the Grille. If your happy to do that then you will have little trouble fitting it in mate.

Good luck

Well I'm feeling adventurous. Looks like the cutting discs are coming out :-)

Measure twice, cut once, and take photo's as you go.

I have photo's. The bar is actually a factory Nissan bar made by ARB, the main differences to the genuine ARB bar are the thickness of the metal used (ARB thicker) and the centre hoop, the Nissan bar has a tube centre hoop.

Advice from Kurt the owner;
"Is the car and or bull bar air bag compatible? This poses some ambiguous issues with ADR's and insurance companies.... In theory drilling a hole for spot lamps is considered to be modifying the bull bar even though it makes zero difference to the structural integrity or crunch zones. (Something to think about but it wouldn't stop me doing it - Tony)

You can't quite see clearly but I purchased a new grill around
$55 and cut it to fit around the motor and gear case. It is all
a very tight fit but it does fit. Taking your time and being
neat is the key.

The bar was colour matched sprayed before it was all finally
installed. Simple small radiators can be purchased from PWR to
replace original equipment coolers they are pretty cheap and fit
easily out of the way. Can get more photos if you like."
