Shuddering, shaking only in reverse GQ EFI Manual 5 spd

This Problem seemed to start about the time I was bogged going up a sand dune with a boat on the back, wrong gear lost power, dug in deep..........Reversed out with some resistance, I got it back down the dune, had another go lower gear and pulled all the way up and over.
Now I have a shudder in reverse? I thought engine mount?? no cant see it moving, gearbox mount? no they look good too. Could it be uni joints, I cant feel any freeplay? Puzzled......:bowdown:

Have a REAL good look at the engine and gearbox mounts, sometimes they look ok but are split.
Pay particular attention to the passenger side ones.

Also have a real good look at the clutch. If you slipped it even for a short time it may have put hot spots on the flywheel which can cause a shudder ,especially in reverse as it torque`s the drive line in the oppisite direction.

Thanks pearcey you put words to my dark fears..............I didnt mention clutch, thats one of those hard to get to, painfully expensive if you need pro help, The thingy I didnt want to talk about!
Plan A really check mounts.....jack up the motor etc etc
Plan B think about looking at clutch.................................after christmas

Rechecked the engine mounts, gearbox too. I used a lever and then jacked up different spots to see if the mounts opened.......all seems good. So looks like you might be correct Pearcey, Ive put hot spots on the flywheel.

Hi Stumpjumper.
If you leave it for a while the sharp edges of the dust relief slots may just get champered off where the heat spots are and you may have slightly less shudder.If you have heat spots in the fly wheel or the pressure plate they are usually higher than the plates surface , but you will not be able to feel this by running your fingers over the plate. But as you apply the clutch the sharp edges on the clutch plate reads these very small bumps and so we get shudder By the way this may not be your problem.

Slipping ,
cold start.......... motor reving fast have to slip to reverse out the driveway safely. the shudder is worst in this instance.
Later when its hot, revs about 700 it doesnt shudder so bad, but its there. I tend to give it a bit of clutch to get it moving then disengage and roll out in neutral. Not getting any worse but not getting better either.
