It can and has been done but I can't help with any details. The Cummins motors are very heavy and would need much heavier front springs to hold the weight.

theres alot of diffrent engine conversion and doing a cummins conversion is the most exspenive
so i think you need to think about what your going to be youing it for

Hay guys just a question with the lower revs of the cummins is it worth getting the patrols gearbox gear ratios changed or just change the whole gearbox

I think it depends on what model of engine, ISF 3.8L or 6BT 5.9L or something else? Apparently the 6BT can pretty much destroy the GU five speed box so may be best to replace the transmission at the same time.

Killa Kustom kables is building a prototype now to make kits to suit 6bt mated to gu 4speed auto.

Jump onto Facebook and search killa Kustom kables. Steve Kildey has done a cummins to gu and has the answers you seek. Also look at killa auto electrics page.

The nissan 4.2 weighs in around 740 lbs and the Cummins 5.0 is 1100lbs,
not sure how this translates for a rock hopper or a tourer

Castlemaine Rod shop do adaptor plates, and other than Marks you could try Dellows
