Well it looks as though I got through. I have an original MQ petrol L28 SWB patrol. She had a rebuild motor about 6 years ago plus clutch and radiator rebuild and hoses of course. She has traveled 3,000ks since all on tar and short trips not exceeding 30ks at a time. These days she travels around the corner to the produce store to pick up feed and hay. In her prime she traveled the highways pulling horse floats. Never missed a beat. Starts first start every start. Has log books still and always had regular oils changes. Well now she needs a new gear box Nothing wrong with the original though!!! A 5 speed or auto conversion would help her travel west of the divide towards Far North QLD and back. Shes 31 years old now and a bit rusty in the lower doors and quarter panels. Can I ask you guys for some advice on where to obtain the above or a reputable bloke to do the conversion. Cheers Garry Looking forward to enjoying this experience.

Cheers

Welcome aboard Garry.

Mate we're all about passing on the knowledge & steering our fellow Patrols in the right direction so buy all means ask away.

There is a factory 5spd from the MK that would probably do the job your after. Im not right up on the older girls myself but theirs a few on here that are & you'll get the advice you need.

We are a friendly bunch here so feel free to join in & I hope you enjoy the forum mate.

Cheers
Paul

Hi and welcome to Nissan Nut House Garry. L28 5spd adapters are hard to find. The 5 spd usually came out behind the SD33T, starter on opposite side. Good luck with search buddy. Send MQ Mad a PM he may have found 1 or 2.
