Hi, my name is Michelle, I am after some info on an old nissan and it has been recomended that i join up and see if some one can help me out. :)
My hubby and I are I are looking
in to getting an old Nissan Patrol MQ swb on the road, (well thats
what we think it is) to use as a camping /fishing weekender, it has
been sitting in a farm shed for years after having a new engin put
in, and apart from a few minor details should be easy to get back on
the road, the main thing we are wanting to know is can we
legally/safley put our small kids in the back seat that it has in it
with their booster seats? have been trying to find out via the
internet but had no luck so far and i am wondering if the back seat
that is in it is even legal?
Thankyou Michelle :D

Welcome to the forum Michelle, good to have you on board.

There's a couple of MQ owners who will be most likely on the forum tonight who can help you.

You may want to put up the question in another category if no one gets back to you tonight as a lot of people don't read the introductions section but see how you go anyway.

Hi Michelle, welcome aboard.
Probably your best bet to find out about the legalities of the seats would be to ask the closest mechanics that are accredited to pit pass vehicles.

Thanks Pete, yeah Horsham life is great especialy since the lakes have filled again, we dont have to travel so far from home on a weekend and loving the 40 min drive to lonsdale for a weekend of yabbieing :D, we moved here around 10 years ago from Swan Hill, so it took a little to get uesd to not having the Murry in our back yard, but we grew to like it here and people are great here too, so we made it our home :)
Cheers Michelle

I'd hate to be the bearer of bad new here but unless your real handy then you are biting a fair bit off there trying to get that back on the road for your family. If the motor really is a goer and has not suffered from sitting around then maybe get it taken out and dropped into another car.

The M series can often be picked up for a song and in way better nick than that, i am sure the guy is trying to do the right thing but the economics of that resto will make it an expensive one i reckon.

Good luck either way, have a chat with Findly Owner, he is your man.

Regardless, welcome aboard.
