don't want to get involved in the pros and cons, and can't fit one as Silver has an alloy bar, but Aldi Chermside still had 3 left at lunchtime today

a steel bracket can always be made for the fitout
heaps of alloy bull bars have winches fitted behind them mate go for it i recon

nah, I've got a flying bomb brand hand winch that gets me out of trouble, eventually.

Believe it or not, I once had to ask some enthusiastic mates to slow down on the handle as I worked to ease our old MQ's path over some tree roots

it is an easy job to get a cradle made up for the winch on a gu. there is even some mounting holes there u can use.
from memory the ally bar is only bolted on with 4 bolts that are on te sides of the rail. leaving 2 threded holes to mount a cradle. my bull barr is of the car right now. so if there is anything u whant to see in pic let me know
