gday guys it seems that my 2.8 has developed a noise that is only apparent when im deaccelating. It dosent happen when I rev it in netural or when I put the clutch in. I'm thinking it may be the dual mass flywheel are these know for noises?
any help would be great

You may have a leaky exhaust or a loose clamp somewhere, it may not be the flywheel, sad thrust bearing, spiggot bearing, broken spring in the clutch plate.
Check the harmonic balancer bolt, how long since the timing belt and tensioner and idler were replaced?

thanks for the reply mate. The timing belt, tensioner and ideler were all replaced about 3000kms ago. I have since found that it now even rattles when revved in netural. I took off the aircon belt and the noise was gone so I changed the idler pully bearing but it still does it so im pretty sure iv got a sad bearing in the aircon comp.

Good to hear, that's better than a re-build, have fun gett'n the bearing out, they're a pain.
Cheers Ferret
