Can someone tell me whats the advantage of having 24 volt system which is found in high spec safaries?

I think the 2 x 12v batteries in series(=24v) will give you more engine crank than a standard 12 battery, therefore they were used more in the cold countries to kick over the motors..
Could be wrong but that what I heard

Headlights n fogs are more powerful? Wil it be wise to change it to hid?

I do not know about HID, but a 24V car usually requires special lights.

For what it was worth, my Patrol was designed for the Russian market, which meant that it is a 12V car, but with two batteries wired in parallel (for extra cranking power in -50C weather), an electric block/fuel heater (to enable starts in extreme weather), heavy-duty H260 differentials and an engine-driven winch.
