What diff- what locker ?

Hi, I have a MQ 1/85 TD patrol and want to fit a rear locker, Ive read through some of the threads on here but still not real sure on what diff I have and if parts interchange.

As far as I can tell my diff is a H233. the center is in held by bolts not stud, info I have read suggests its a H233 ?

I have found a locker but it says it fits a H233B diff. Is this interchangable with the H233 diff ?

Thanks, I did a search and read through some of the threads but none really dealt with the MQ rear diff

MQ came out 3 different rear diffs, C200, H233, and H260. You have a bolt in centre so that rules out C200. H260 was fitted to utes. So if you have a wagon then you will have a H233 and the ARB air locker part number you need is RD04.
Unfortunately lockers to suit H233b are not interchangable as they take either a RD135 (33 spline - rear diff) or RD136 (31 spline - front).

PS, interesting side note, ARB already have lockers available for the new model Patrol.
Side note #2 The new model Patrol has the same rear diff as the current model Pathfinder.

Thanks I have a SWB with from what I can tell has the H233 diff.

The locker I am looking at is the Lockright Nissan 3220.

This locker uses the original diffs side gear, so spline count wont matter.

Any one know if it will fit my diff as on the add for this locker its says its for the the H233B.

Is the only differnce Between the H233 and the H233B the spline count ?

Lockright don't list a locker for MQ, Lokka list one for "most" MQ rear but not GQ or GU rear. I can't say for sure but it doesn't look promising.

I have not measured up to compare H233 and H233b centre dimensions but they look very different.

The plate under my bonnet list the rear axle as HG43 if thats any help

HG refers to H233 diff type, 43 is the ratio - 4.3:1.

That locker you are looking at only fits open center 4 pinion diffs, not LSD.

Thank you for that info on the diff, now I know for sure which one I have. The odd one as it seems.

My diff is non LSD, dont know if its 2 or 4 pinion but I guess that doesnt matter as no one seems to make a locker for this diff.

So what are my factory options as in a LSD out of other nissans ?

I have Emailed Lokka but by the look of there "most" for the MQ rear I doubt they do one for my diff.
