Has anyone replaced the carpet in a GU recently? The carpet in my wagon is getting a bit tired and I've been thinking about replacing the carpet since we left the golfields..... red dirt......but that was 7 years ago, probably should get on with it!! Any info would be great.
Cheers

They suggested 4 rolls of the underlay for the LWB GQ so did you ordered along with the underlay or just the vinyl mat alone? Any pictures of yours..?

Not sure what state you live in ? (it does help you to have it in your profile sometimes :smiley_thumbs_up:)
Ive used the GQ carpet from these guys before with great results, also i reccomend you take a look at their "Sand grabber" floor mats, best thing you can do for your interior, especially if you ever take kids to the beach !

bugger, they don't seem to list a GQ sand grabba. Sick of using the ones that don't really fit, and move around.

Yep - I'm up for this also - have drowned it once, and as AB would know (lmao) it's a pain to pull it all out and clean ... Those molded numbers look the goods I reckon ... will give me something constructive to do when Paul and Derek are doing my engine .. many thanks for the link!!!!

Your right Rick, seems very strange they list all those other obscure car models, yet not a GQ Patrol ?
Ill ring em this week and find out what the go is !

Ok Silver, i rang QMCC (i found out they have been taken over by new people now) about GQ sandgrabbers, the best person to speak to about it (Brad), is away over seas for 3 weeks, and the lady i talked to on the ph said the GUs are more popular.
I continued to explain how popular GQ Patrols are, and cant undertstand why they are not avilable for such a popular vehicle...........i would approximate her care factor to be about 0.5% or less, so perhaps remind me in 3 weeks and ill ring them again !

I've done a few carpet replacements on late model Commodores, one tip I'll give is....
The carpet is originally fitted to the car before most other interior components, don't be afraid to cut the old one out. And even possibly cut a slit in the new one down the centre, you can get the carpet in and wrap it around the components under the centre console etc - once everything's back in you won't see the cut.

If ever you wash the carpet instead of buying new, don't dry under the sun. The carper will shrink and you will find it hard to stretch during reinstall.
