Has anyone done the steering pin bearing shim fix? Id love to hear of your experience after doing this.

I have a slight wobble at 90kph. Not a show stopper but annoying when most of my driving is around that speed.

Have you checked everything else mate? Bushes, tyres? I think removing those shims is one of the last resorts.
I too had wobbles at exactly 90, like you and a lot of GU owners. I checked and done everything, including removing those shims and it didnt help.
Mine turned out to be panhard bushes. To my eye were fine, but mechanic looked at them and said they were flogged.
Replaced them and the GU has been happy on the road ever since.

Front 2-link with panhard suspensions all have this wobble eventually, be it in a Patrol, in a LC, in a Samurai/Jimny.
Unfortunatelly it can never be pinned down to a single fix. All the components need to be in good nick, link bushes, panhard bushes, shocks, wheel bearings, kingpin bearings, steering box, tire balancing and wheel alignment. So instead of rushing to the expensive things, you start on the cheap and easy ones and move along increasing the cost of the parts replaced until it is good.
EDIT: add the steering link ball joints to that list as well!
