Greetings everyone,

This is your pal Ahmad from Saudi Arabia, a very recent owner of a 2004 td45e patrol.

Here are the things I'm really interested in. I'm listing it so that any one can help or discuss these topics if interested:
1. Maintaining the manual transmission from A to Z.
2. Unlock and tune the ECU; although I've been told not possible.
3. Improve sound and temperature insulation.
4. Reducing friction and wasted energy overall to boost performance and improve fuel consumption.

Many more to come along the journey.

Kind regards,

Ahmad

Welcome to the forum Ahmad! I have a 2005 TB45E as well.

Manual transmission maintenance is just about making sure it doesn't leak and use Nissan recommended oils at every predetermined transmission oil change, on the maintenance card.

Can't say about ECU tune, this is not a thing around where I live.

For reducing temperature and noise inside the car, I advise you to visit Car Builders website, and watch some of their videos. I live in another country so it was not viable to import their products due to weight, but I have followed all their advise using similar products I could find locally. I have done this to a 1997 Y60, not to the 2005 Y61, but it is the same concept. They have very nice videos explaining the material, the technique, etc.

To reduce rolling friction the only thing I believe is possible is to use narrow tires, like 235/85r16 for example. But that will be a problem offroad, specially on sand. You have to choose what is most important, either fuel or fun!

Cheers from Brazil.
