Hi all,
Bought a 07 Gu crd, has 190k on the clock, seems to have power, starts fine, runs fine but is burning excess fuel and is blowing black some. Seems like there is a bit of vibration from the engine around 2500 rpm. Intermittently the turbo will not spool and I have to take my foot off and on the throttle to get boost.

I have replaced the MAF, air filter and sources of boost leaking (intercooler and turbo hose), removed the injectors and had them tested, they all passed.

Will be installing a dawes and boost controller tomorrow.

I blanked off the EGR.

I am kind of running out of things I can think of to fix apart from taking a look at the injector pump, do you guys think this might be faulty? Is there a way to test it by myself or a professional service? Any other suggestions as to how to solve my problem would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Grab one of these. You can monitor frame rail pressure in real time as you are driving.

Sounds like Limp.
Did u recently block the EGR?
Fit the Dawes and needle valve and for stock ECM(ecu) set the max boost no more than 16psi hauling (going up steep hill) in 3rd gear. For CRD using manual boost control, u need to have the vacuum solenoid plugged into its elec harness.
As said above, is a good idea to fit a scan tool and see if any trouble/fault codes are reported.
