Greetings all members.
Just joined the group, thanks for the acceptance.
.
I have a quick question about the brake warning light in my dash which comes on when I start driving.
Fluid is good.
Foot brake switch is working.
Foot brake will need adjusting at next service as it doesn’t hold on an incline.
Brake switch also swapped however I knew this wasn’t going to help.
I did install a towpro elite with the diode as per their instructions however I’m uncertain if this is coincidental.

Any help would be much appreciates

Cheers

Ange.

In the old days, a brake warning light would arise from there being a difference between brake fluid pressures in the system. Simplest fix was to check all the components for leaks or blockages such as kinked or twisted hoses and bent or crushed steel tubing. After making sure there were no stuck calipers or brake pistons, then bleeding the brakes would usually fix the issue. Nowadays electronics and ABS are used which complicates things and taking it to a brake specialist is your best bet.

If it started straight after you fitting the brake controller, maybe you have spliced into a wrong wire or fitted the diode incorrectly or something else simple.
