Small barn door dress panel removal

Is this plastic panel on the outside of the small rear door just held on with clips or is there something fixing it behind the chrome bits or on the inside of the door? Does it come off in one complete piece as shown in the picture? Does it come off directly rearwards? I need to remove it and do not want to damage it at all. As you can see the bolts that usually hold the number plate are already removed.88314
