I'm interested but could only be tentative and have to see what happens.

Def not next year though unfortunately.

I could well be a starter for this one.
I'm now a card carrying senior citizen, retired.
Got a project on at the mo' but will be bored thereafter.

It would have to be 2016 for me though. For anyone who's done this trip. How long is it expected to take?

So any interest in 2026, Bob, Di and myself are looking at going in 2026, starting saving and planning now, we would probably meet you lot if anyone comes along in Townsville as we would come via the longest shortcut Alice springs, boulia and across to Townsville, expression of interest please.

Either that or the canning stock route

Yep! I'm a very likely starter. I'll be based just east of Sarina by then.
Any other southern starters are welcome to use my base as a jump off point.
About 5 hours south of Townsville.

At this point i would think we'll take the slow route up the coast and meet up in Townsville.

Theres a billion places up the coast we want to see and enjoy, not just make a B line for the tip. What is your expectations Stropp ? Heading home we want to leave the Cape on a different road and head to Normanton and try to catch the "morning glory" there. Then head down to see my Daughter in Augathella. If she's still there or somewhere else in the outback...

Yes I will be in no rush and will probably take my van and leave it somewhere for the difficult parts and use it as a base as required and probably the same Normanton and Karumba

#Stropp Bramwell Junction Roadhouse is a good spot to leave a van - right at the start of the OTT.
