Y60 1990 gq power loss

So i have a 1990 Gq patrol manual with carby fuel only it keeps losing power on these cold mornings when getting into 5th to the point where i need to pull over and switch the car on and off to get any return all though in the afternoons not a drama I’ve replaced heat exchange, thermostat, full radiator flush carby was apparently rebuilt before I bought the rig

Sounds like a similar problem with my RB30 carby. I found that the second stage of the carby was getting stuck shut. I had to remove the unit and take the second stage butterfly out. I used fine wet'n'dry to smooth out the bore and take the edge off the butterfly. It takes a bit to refit and adjust the butterfly so it seals and moves as it should.
