Just picked up a 99 y61 patrol with the tb45 engine. Its in great shape with only 100k km.
After my first day of driving i noticed something that may be a problem; It has very little power between 500-1500 rpms... which are low rpms but staring from 0 kmh in first fear is a struggle, and if im on an incline i need to basically feather the clutch to get it going.
I dont think this is normal as Ive never experienced this before.
Is this a known issue or any suggestions on what i can do to help it out?
Once i get over 2000 rpms it definitely gets going and can get up to speed in all the other gears... But it feels like it should have more torque down low...
Any help would be great!
Also I am already in love with this truck, I had a montero before and the patrol is an obvious upgrade.
