Torque converter removal Nissan Safari gq TD42

Hey guys just wondering do I have to remove the engine oil sump to undo the torque converter bolts on my Nissan Safari GQ TD42 or is there another way of doing it?

All done I used to ring spanner and a hammer just not sure how I’m gonna torque them up
