Has anyone converted or know of someone who has converted a 4wd ute into a trailer?
What legalities are involved with doing it also?
I will soon need to invest in more carrying options for Easter trips with the growing family and I have an old Toyota fj45 ute in the shed which could possibly be transferred...lol
Not even sure if it would be worth the effort and might be better off just saving for a camper, etc...

Cant use car diffs, so a trailer axle
Have to make a frame/rails draw bar thingy
Mite as well make a new flat top drop side trailer
There are guidelines to making an "owner built" trailer, check out the web
Being owner built, itll need an ID plate affixed before rego
You then as the manufacturer are responsible for any issues that may arises from poor workmanship
As for the effort
Towing a trailer that looks like a toymota behind a nissan ???
You be the judge

It would be pretty heavy for a trailer, Andy. It would probably be cheaper to buy a second hand trailer or camper. There are plenty of them about. Just my 2c worth.

Just a FYI point: nissan patrol braked hubs for trailer approx $125.00 each less if non braked I think axle was about $250.00
These of course are solid big axles.
