G'day everyone just after some info on GU 3rd row seat's.I want to put one in the back of the GQ,i have borrowed one from a work mate to sort out how hard it would be.My question is does anyone know if the mounting position changes in the later years. The one i have borrowed is out of a year 2000 and will fit fairly easily,i don't want to go and buy one out of a later model to find their different.

cheers

G'day Chester, I've got 2001 model 3rd row seats if you're interested? Would be same as 2000 model seats I reckon and they're still in the plastic bags I got them in when I bought the trol from original owner. Let me know if you're interested.G'day Plasnart thanks for the offer ill keep it in mind,my mate thinks he has one,if it turns out they went with his GU i'll let you know.

don't all GU 3rd seat split in the middle and fold up towards the windows, and GQ seats are bench seats that fold up towards the 2nd row seat???????
Won't the fixing points be totally different and would there be some sort of compliance / engineering thing have to be done?

Apologies for the questions but very intrigued by this............. I do like the GU 3rd row seat arrangement

Yes clunk you are correct.Thats the reason i want to do this mod.I want to have just one seat in so i can still fit the fridge down the side. The mounting position is totally different,so will have to make new one's for the wheel arch(where the GU seat's mount)And also might have to put some sort of bracing on the arch.Yes it will have to engineered.:rolleyes:One day.
I can let you know how i go if you like.

yes please mate, I like the idea of being able to use just one seat instead of the whole bench and having the rest of the space available...................... I'm not clued up enough in the old mechanical stuff to work it out myself.
