Just started the import process for a 1992 Safari from japan. I'm super excited to get into a proper 4x4 again. I'll probably be on here asking a ton of questions. Attached Picture is what I got.

Guam, the land of the Australian brown tree snake. That is one good looking Patrol. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome. Quick question. How do I get access to the videos and gallery? Right now it says I don't have access.

Making some progress on importation. Should be picking it up at my local customs yard on the 2nd or shortly after. Got some new pictures and it has already suffered some damage during transport. 8606786068

Nice looking truck. You'll love it.
But if you do get bored with it, feel free to ship in on south :)
Seems a lot of body/spring lift? And I'm guessing you can't legally tint front door windows in Japan...
On google maps it looks like you could drive over Guam in about an hour? Not a place I know anything about... Welcome to the forum

There wasn't much info on the lift. The front will definitely get tint as soon as it gets to Guam. Way too hot here to not have it. Guam is definitely small. It takes about 45 minutes to get across the island from north to south. I'll be bring it down south with me when I retire. Definitely got Patrol envy when I was in Australia a couple months ago. So I decided to import one.

Nice wheel and tire combo. The fender flare looks like fiberglass, it should be easily repairable.

I'm guessing that they are not stock flares. They look a lot wider than ones I have seen.

Only rust I can see so far is on the bumper. Are there some common areas prone to rust?

Ha.
Hahaha.
Haaaaaahahahahahahaahhahahaaaaaaaa.
Gutters.
Almost every single one of em, sooner or later. You have an advantage that it's black (captures heat, evaporates the water from the internal gutter)
If they aren't rusted through or repaired already I would pull the roof lining and flood it with your favourite rust treatment/inhibitor. Get frisky with a drill and make so water can drain out of it. They're 3 layers of steel bent stupidly together. I'll try and find a picture.
Lower rad support. Just because.
The lower shelf of the chrome bumpers, especially if it's been used to launch a boat/ on a beach/ anywhere they salt the roads for ice and snow - sand/salt piles up under em.
Wheel arches (same reason)
Sills/ body door rails, whatever you call em. Where the bottom of the doors close to. Also just because.

Ah, and those "running boards" or "side steps" or "pretend rock sliders" whatever they are...also tend to rust off, given the chance.

The spare looks at least 33, if not 35" and to clear that with plenty room to spare... she aint stock :D

My Safari is finally arriving tomorrow. Just have to deal with paperwork and pay some import taxes.

well the beast has arrived. A dead battery missing precleaner box, needs the rubber hose from precleaner to filter and I need a bunch of clips for the grill/fascia. Not bad for a 30 year old vehicle.

Looks good mate. Congrats. Those rims must be a Mad Negative Offset to cause it to stick out so far? or has it got GU Diffs under it? the rims dont look fully sik so maybe GU Diffs

Not very knowledgeable on Patrol/safaris. Is there any identifying mark on the diffs that would hint at which ones I have? Found J1 on front diff and ND063 2x3 on rear.

I took a look at the rims, they appear to be -30 offset.

On GQ diffs the ratio is on the housing. The ID plate in the engine bay should state the diff type. I think diffs can be swapped, so that info may be false, but am happy to be corrected on that fact.
