Hi,New on this forum.
Having a huge issue with my daughters GU Patrol ute,2012 Y61,with ZD30(DDTi)engine.Throttle stuck on full noise!!.
I am looking for test procedure for the throttle pedal sensor.Testing with Snap on scan tool shows following P020,,P2135 and P0120
P020 Accel pedal position sensor2 circuit
P2135 Accel pedal position 1 and 2 signal correlation
P0120 Accel pedal position sensor 1 circuit

When I ran the snap on scan tool tps test it showed values from 4.2v to 4.9v but nothing below that,I'm assuming its a 0to5v tps and the high reading at closed throttle of 4.2v is the reason on start up it goes to full noise.
I cant access the workshop manuals but the correct test procedure is what i need.
Also i have seen on net patrol a part sell complete throttle pedal that looks identical to what i have but it says not suitable for ddi engine can anyone confirm please.

Remove the entire pedal assy and then remove the TPS. See if the spring in the TPS is still pulling back on the actuating lever. Sounds like the spring has broken or let go.

You can buy a new TPS only as well.

After talking with Patrol part today my engine is not a ddi engine but a common rail engine(although body tags say ddti),so i have the six inline plug on top of pedal, there must be a test proceedure for the tps?,throttle spring returns throttle pedal ,not sure internally as its a sealed tps unit. With my snap on scan tool test of tps showed closed throttle 4.2v to full throttle 4.9v.
Can someone link me to test proceedure in workshop manual please, the links to manuals wont work for me.

Hi Dave. I actually watched the YouTube shorts on this ute getting stuck (if this is the DMW I'm thinking of).
As for the TPS. This is what I found in my Gregorys manual. This is ALL it had on the TPS, no other chapters. And although it mentions the 4.5 Petrol motor, this may help you as it does mention a Voltage range. Hope it helps.

Not the same DMW!!

CRD has two TPS (TPS 1 & 2). CRD drive by wire, I understand that one TPS is for pedal and second for throttle body. Not sure of actual location of each of the TPS (TPS 1 and 2), if you find out I would be interested in knowing this.

From my reading:
P0120 is mismatch between TPS 1 & 2

P0120 is TPS signal related and generic explanation here:

https://www.carparts.com/blog/p0120-code-throttle-pedal-position-sensor-a-circuit/

To check TPS voltage: Pedal up and depressed with eng off and IGN on
Extract from CRD manual incorporated into a document I used to install a device integrated to ECM harness (hope it helps).

I had similar issue a couple of months back P2118 may be worth a read:
https://www.carparts.com/blog/p2118-code-throttle-actuator-control-motor-current-range-performance/

I would remove throttle body and check if the throttle plate can freely rotate 90 deg.
