RB30 reverse light switch locartion

Hi,
Information says that it is on tope of the box but there are two switches that I have marked as 1 and 2.
Which one is it please???
! was connected, but reverse lights did not work - jumper the connection and they work! #2 was not connected, a load of crud in it!

It was number 1 in the diagram - closest to the bell housing. A 3/4 deep 6 point socket got it off!
