I'm a bit lost with working this out. I'll have a good look at it this afternoon but thought I would throw it out there for any ideas.

How do I connect my 4" snorkel up to the GU air filter housing?

Below is my 4" snorkel set up with original air box and now I have the GU turbo with the air filter housing at front quater right next to the 4" snorkel elbow.
The elbow that goes into the quater panel will sit pretty close to the actual air filter housing that sits in the corner of the engine bay.

I haven't measured the air filter housing inlet pipe yet but I assume It's 3"....I'll have to double check this.

Anyways, So I need to adapt either the 4" snorkel elbow to the 3" air filter housing air inlet with only about 50-100mm gap inbetween the two.

Some ideas are...

Use that extra bit of 4" stainless steel pipe and secure to elbow....Then get some sort of spacer that has an outside diameter of 4" and inside diameter of 3"....Slide that over the air filter housing and secure it somehow and get a 4" rubber hose and clamp it over...
Cut a hole in the air filter housing to suit the 4" stainless steel pipe and simply slide the 4" pipe through and somehow silicone it up.....Bit dodgy.
See if the 4" rubber elbow will reach over the 3" air filter pipe and clamp...very dodgy!
Can you get some kind of 4" rubber hose reducer down to a 3" rubber hose and clamp them both....That would be ideal!

Any ideas appreciated!!!

You could try someone like reece plumbing supplies and see if theres an aussie connector that reduces from 100mm to 75mm dunno about imperial though. The aussie connector is rubber so may stretch to accomodate

If all you need to do is reduce the size then that should be easy......

The problem your going to face here is space im tipping, so I suggest modifying the air box to suit your 4" air intake.

See what you can find in the hardware/plumbing suppliers & if you get stuck let me know & I'll make an intake adapter out of stainless & send it down to you.

Thanks guys and thanks Paul for the offer mate!

I didnt get a chance to have a look today but will suss it out better this week.

Yes, the main problem is limited space to reduce up from 3" to 4".

If I work it all out I will post up the results!

Struck gold this morning!

Went to Pirtek (Once again...lol) to get another fitting and found the perfect solution.

See pic below, It's a 4" to 3" reducer rubber. I just need to cut a whisker off the 4" elbow from the snorkel into the quater panel, insert small section of 4" pipe to connect to 4" side of reducer.

On the 3" side cut a whisker off the reduer rubber and cut the standard flange off the air filter and slide 3" rubber over, silicone and clamp it all.....DONE!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a very tight fit and I'll just have to cut little sections off to make it work but it will work a treat and be all air tight!

Well this was an absolute nightmare to fit onto the air filter 3" housing.

What I didn't realise was that both the air filter housing and the reducer were exactly the same size @ 3"...lol

Had to trim off the rubber and plastics on both ends to create diagonals, lube it all up and heat up the rubber to stretch it over....Just and I mean just got it on!!!!

Happy days!

Also, After pulling off the snorkel today I soon confirmed where that water got into the air filter on our last meet up! See below...
